BOBBY STEPHEN

Founder and Chairman of the Board

Bobby Stephen is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Bobby Stephen’s Fund for Education.  Bobby is a lifelong resident of Manchester and has been a successful small business owner, former NH State Senator, and has served NH in various roles including the Deputy Executive Director of NH Job Training and the Director of Community Services at the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development.  Bobby, a former Golden Gloves State Champion, is the longest standing Chairman of the NH Boxing and Wrestling Commission (holding this commission for over 40 years and appointed by 10 Governors.)  Bobby lives in Manchester with his wife of over 50 years, Shirley, and has three sons and eight grandchildren, all who live in Manchester.  Bobby dedicates the majority of his time supporting his passion of helping others who are less fortunate, by continuously securing event sponsors and raising funds to support the educational aspirations and goals of NH’s at-risk and under-served.  For more history on our great founder, please see the history section of our website!

DAVID PENCHANSKY

Treasurer

David is a Certified Public Accountant and is a Managing Member/Owner at Penchansky & Co. PLLC CPA's in Manchester, NH.  David has known Bobby for over 3 decades and has served on the board for over 15 years.  David generously gives his time and financial expertise as the board’s treasurer. 

 

 

 

 

ROBERT S. STEPHEN, Esq.

Rob is a 1993 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Suffolk Law School in Boston, Massachusetts where he graduated ranked #1 in his class of 146 students.  Rob was awarded the Most Outstanding Student Award as chosen by the law faculty. He earned his BS in Business Administration from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire in 1988. He graduated from Trinity High School of Manchester.  In 2006, Rob earned an MBA, Magna Cum Laude, from Southern New Hampshire University, with a Certificate in Human Resource Management. 

Rob has served on the NH Real Estate Commission as the Attorney Member since September 2003. As the Attorney Member of the Real Estate Commission, Rob conducts disciplinary hearings of real estate salespersons and brokers. He also served the City of Manchester on the Planning Board for close to three years from 2001-2003. In addition, he serves the State of New Hampshire in his capacity as Deputy Boxing and Wrestling Commissioner.

Rob is licensed to practice law in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. His professional certifications include Senior Professional in Human Resources as designated by the Society of Human Resource Management.  During law school, Rob was an intern at the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office. After graduating in 1993, Rob clerked for the Hon. Martin F. Loughlin of the United States District Court for the District of N.H. and practiced law for Bouchard & Mallory, P.A. in Manchester from 1993-1997. In 1997, he joined ADP TotalSource as Legal Counsel and later became the Director of Client Services for the Northeast Region. In 2004, Rob founded Stephen Law Group, PLLC in Manchester.   

Rob is a lifelong Manchester, New Hampshire resident. His hobbies include family, civic involvement, sports and reading. He is married to Joleen, a 4th grade teacher at Smyth Road School in Manchester.  They have twin boys named Jack and Drew and a daughter named Carly.

THOMAS STEPHEN

Thomas is a Para Planner at Sterling Financial Partners and is the youngest Stephen family member on the board.  Thomas graduated from the Paul School of Business at the University of New Hampshire and is currently working in Virginia as a financial planner, following in the footsteps of his father, Chuck Stephen.  Thomas has been on the board for five years and has added great value from a recent college graduate’s viewpoint.

JENNY STEPHEN

Jenny is a Counselor/Community Liaison at the Manchester School of Technology who works directly with high school students to explore career options and educational goals, and works with local businesses to identify career paths and job opportunities for her students.  Jenny is Bobby's daughter-in-law and lives in Manchester with her husband John and two daughters Hannah and Nicole.

JASON SANDERSON

Jason is a steadfast and generous supporter of the Bobby Stephen's Fund for Education.  Not only does Jason donate his time as a board member, but he personally makes a donation each year to fund multiple scholarships for NH's Jobs for America's Graduates students.  Jason has worked with Bobby for decades and is dedicated to helping NH's youth succeed.  Jason lives in the Northern NH.

SCOTT W. ELLISON

Scott practices corporate and business law in Manchester, NH at Cook, Little, Rosenblatt and Manson.  Scott has been a member of the NH Bar since 1994.  He is a 1989 graduate of Dartmouth College and has a law degree from the University of Connecticut and a Masters in Law from Boston University School of Law.  He is most proud however of being a 1985 graduate of Manchester High School West!  Scott has worked with the Board since its inception and brings years of legal knowledge and advice to the Board.  The Bobby Stephen Fund is important to Scott because it is a way to help others pursue the educational opportunities which Scott has had and which made a difference in his life.

JAMES MILLIKEN

Jim is a Financial Representative at Modern Woodmen of America.  Jim worked closely with Bobby at the NH Job Training Council when Jim was a member of the Private Industry Council. Jim has served NH's education and training communities by dedicating time as an active member on many state and local boards.

STEVEN BOUCHER

Steve is the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at Southern NH University.  Steve worked with Bobby at the NH Job Training Council and the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development.  Steve is also a Deputy Commissioner, working with Bobby on the NH Boxing Commission.  Steve lives in Pembroke with his wife Tammy and children Cove and Cheyanne.

NICOLE MCKENZIE

Nicole is the co-owner of Workforce Designs, Inc., a grant acquisition company established in 2000.  Nicole works with businesses, educational institutions, and the workforce development community to create avenues for workforce training and skill advancement.  Workforce Designs, Inc. has brought over $40 Million to New Hampshire in Federal grant dollars since its inception.  Nicole worked closely with Bobby at the NH Job Training Council in her role as Associate Director of Workforce Development where she assisted NH businesses design customized training programs to create a competitive workforce.  Nicole lives in Alton with her husband, two daughters, two horses and three dogs!
